PAT Testing is the inspection and testing of electrical appliances to check that they are safe for continued use. It involves a combination of visual checks and electrical testing using appropriate equipment to identify damage, wear, or faults that could present a risk of electric shock or fire.
PAT Testing supports the safe use of electrical equipment in the workplace. At Cork Safety Services, we carry out PAT Testing to help identify damaged or unsafe appliances and support compliance with workplace electrical safety requirements.

The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 require electrical equipment to be maintained in a safe condition. PAT Testing is commonly used to check portable appliances and provide evidence that this duty is being met.
PAT Testing applies to portable electrical appliances that plug into a socket and are used during work activities, such as computers, kettles, tools, extension leads, and office equipment.
PAT Testing intervals are set based on risk, considering the equipment type, use, and working environment. Regular testing helps ensure equipment remains suitable for continued use.
Yes. PAT testing can be carried out outside normal working hours where required, or appliances can be brought to us for testing, depending on what suits your business.
Failed appliances are clearly identified and recorded, with the issue noted and repair or replacement needs to be arranged before further use.
