Fire Warden Training provides nominated fire wardens or designated staff with an understanding of their fire safety role and responsibilities within the workplace. The course covers emergency response procedures, evacuation arrangements, fire drills and the safe use of fire extinguishers, in line with Irish fire safety legislation.

Course Outcomes

Understand the legal and organisational responsibilities of a Fire Warden, including evacuation procedures and fire-drills.

Identify different fire-classes (A, B, C etc.), and select the correct fire-fighting equipment for each type.

Demonstrate safe use of fire-extinguishers in controlled drills, understanding aiming, discharge and sweep techniques.

Conduct risk-assessments of your workplace, identify potential fire-hazards and recommend control measures.

Understand the fire warden’s role during an evacuation, including assisting occupants to evacuate safely and supporting agreed assembly point procedures.

Carry out basic fire safety checks as assigned and follow workplace fire safety procedures, including participation in drills where required.

Contribute to day-to-day fire safety awareness by supporting agreed procedures and reporting issues or hazards.

Receive a recognised Fire Warden training certificate valid for three years.

Provides designated fire wardens with a clear understanding of their role in workplace fire safety and emergency arrangements.
